Tips for Storing Vehicles
Vehicle Storage Tips
It is easy to store your vehicle for short or long periods of time, but please don't just drop it off and walk away. Follow the steps below to help ensure your vehicle will run properly when you need it again, all vehicles require some level of care.
- Have the oil changed before storing for long periods of time.
- Top of the fuel tank to prevent moisture from accumulating while the vehicle is in storage.
- Add a fuel stabilizer additive to help keep the fuel from gumming up.
- Clean the vehicle inside and outside. If storing in an open-air storage space, consider a vehicle cover.

Boat or RV Storage Tips
If you are storing a boat or RV for the winter, consider doing the same as above for engine.
- For boats, it is best practice to also drain any water from the engine and water wells.
- For RVs, you will want to drain all fresh and black water tanks including the water lines. This will help keep the tanks and lines from freezing.
