Fill boxes tightly but take care not to overpack nor under pack. Use blanket, towels bedding to fill any voids to avoid the boxes from collapsing. Pack heavier items such as books or tools in small boxes to help manage weight. Item such as bedding can be packed in large boxes. You can use a wardrobe box for hanging your clothes.

Be sure to label all boxes according to the room they belong and the items that might be inside them. (i.e. dishware, books, toys) This will allow you to stay organized when placing the boxes in your storage unit and ensure that breakables are placed at the top of the box stack.

Wrap all glassware or breakable items in bubble wrap. When placing them in a box, remember to place them toward the top of the box to avoid breakage. Pack sturdy items that can take some weight toward the bottom of the box and place breakables on top.

Use quality packing boxes designed for the job that can handle weight. Seal the boxes completely using packing tape.
